Exhibition in Beijing Design Week 2012

Transmission is the action or process of transmitting something. Energy, knowledge, signals, motion, are things that can be transmitted. Transmission usually happens through a medium, or interface.

I explored various design responses to this concept, searching for solutions to either display, explain, or use transmissions. The show is about possible interfaces/medium through which a transmission of some kind may occur.

Decoded
A collection of graphics, depicting crystals. Because of their natural vibrations, they are allegories of radio-wave frequency based forms of communication and data transfer.

Referrer

A Pulsar is a star that emit 2 beams of electromagnetic radiation (identifiable by their radio frequency). The pulsar is spinning and appear like a lighthouse with it's beam of light. Their unique signature makes them perfect points of reference to measure space and time, or to tune a decoder.

Encrypted
