2012 - Vintage Electronics GPS Enabled Nixie Tube Counter
Designed for David Adey.

David and I met back in 2010 at the Callifornia Biennial, where he was showing Flock.
Having previously seen David's work, when he approached me about this project I was very excited to work with him. Probably the most iterative artist project I have worked on and the first where the PCB design was actually seen by the viewer.

Signal Scape public art for San Diego International Air Port, was the second project I worked on for
Miki Iwasaki. Sonar Sensors detect movement under the sculpture and activate the associated bank of box's to light or change pattern.

2010 - DC Motor Kinetic Project

Designed for Andy Ralph.

Andy Ralph Trash Clan OCMA 2010 Biennial from Charles Bergquist on Vimeo.

This project came together rather quickly. Andy and I met over a beer at my favorite local spot BLAH to discuss his sculpture for the OCMA 2010 California Biennial. When I first saw the cartoon-esque sketch's for this piece they instantly brought a smile to my face. The idea of capturing movement with these fixed bodies toppled upside down reminded me of a sort of Tom & Jerry moment. After a few rounds and discussing various ways to achieve his goals, I was enlisted to help with the trash clan.
In keeping with the artistic tradition we got started late, and worked some late hours.

2010 - LED Lighting Project

Bali Hai Screen was the first project working with Miki Iwasaki, was a great success minus some sourcing issues with connectors coming from china and a the massive handmade wiring harness that made the installing electrician less than pleased.
