Awakening
Awakening is a short film utilizing paper animation and digital techniques which follows the journey of an individual seeking to realize her true form.
The audience watches the heroine travel through paper forests, painted skies and glittery pools, and becomes spectator to a dream-like ceremonial dance that inaugurates her transformation.

Told in the manner of a Busby Berkeley dance number, the film explores themes of metamorphosis and life beyond earth while celebrating the wonder of human bodies moving in geometric harmony. The transformation in 'Awakening' refers to a metaphor for both the spiritual transformation we can experience in life and the physical transformation we imagine that is possible through death. Thus 'Awakening' can be seen both as a rite of passage in life and a ritual of passing. However ultimately it an expression of joy towards the experience of living and a reconciliation with mortality.
