Output is dependant on speed, direction, time, relative starting position of the turntables platters and relative length of the adjustable arms.
The Drawings can be further manipulated by manually adjusting the pitch controls of each turntable as they draw.

Clay records were placed on animal trails in the mountains surrounding the city of Kyoto, Japan to collect the footprints of wild animals.
Events such as animal activity and weather conditions were recorded into the clay.
Each record has its location and date printed on its cover and label.
The records can be played on a specially adapted turntable which translates the unique surfaces of the clay disks into sounds sampled from the surrounding areas.
Controls on the turntable can be used to further manipulate these sounds.

"Ally Mobbs' "Re-sampled (speaker drum) 2007" plays with the notions of interactivity and expectation. At first appearance a snare drum is struck by an invisible musician when approached. Closer inspection reveals a motion activated speaker sitting within the barrel of drum. Samples of 'fake' drum beats are played through the speaker causing the springs of the snare to vibrate, mimicking not just the sound but the movement of the drum being struck. "
Drum Phil is an analogue drum sequencer built from a modified reel to reel tape player. Paper disks can be played with preprogrammed rhythms or the stylus mounted tape heads can be removed and used to manually tap out beats by touching the coloured dots. The data stored on credit cards and train tickets etc is what creates the sound.
