ITC Franklin Gothic
The first variant of Franklin Gothic was designed in 1902 – as a single weight – by the prolific typographer Morris Fuller Benton. Due to the popularity of the typeface additions were added in 1906 and again in 1911.
The poster is part of a type specimen pamphlet, which includes information about the history, characteristic and analysis of the typeface from its original incarnation by Morris Fuller Benton to screen version of the typeface designed by Victor Caruso for ITC type foundry in 1991. The poster contrast the original with the latest version of the typeface to bring forth the changes that the typeface has gone through over the years.
