Played some awesome music this past week/weekend. Have some great videos of the Matador show and the Kenji Herbert, Devin Drobka, and myself trio both at Yes Oui Si. Also a few from the AWD Trio's gig at the Tea Lounge in Brooklyn, and thanks to Tom Tedesco at Tedesco Studios in Paramus NJ, we have videos of all of our takes for the record we recorded this weekend! AWD Trio's first record has been laid down. Next we need to mix and master it, which we haven't figured out how we're gonna do yet. More videos soon.

Looking forward to going on tour to work out some music with Sons Of Daughters.

But this week, I have three great shows coming up including a double header at Yes Oui Si. I've never played there before. I'm excited to play there twice in 2 nights!

TONIGHT 2/15: Matador will play a set with Fausto Sierakowsi at Yes Oui Si.

TOMORROW 2/16: The new trio with Kenji Herbert and Devin Drobka will be playing at Yes Oui Si, with Mike Bono's group and Andy Dow's Willful Creatures. Never heard Mike's group but I know that Andy's group will be GREAT!

DAY AFTER TOMORROW 2/17: The AWD Trio will play at the Tea Lounge in Brooklyn, NY from 9:30-11:30. And then.....

DAY AFTER THE DAY AFTER TOMORROW 2/18: The AWD Trio will record our first record EVER. It's gonna be dope. We have played together for a while and have so many common interests. There's no separation between hanging out and playing with these guys. It's all the same for us. Look out for the new record. I'll be posting updates.

My Birthday! I received so many kind wishes and comments today. I feel very grateful.

Full Installation has more or less gone through all the music for the show. It sounds ridiculous. I've never written anything for a group of this size or of this kind of instrumentation. It has been a nice little challenge. With these compositions, I feel I am only exploring the proverbial "tip of the iceberg" as far as writing for 4 voices in this idiom. It has proved to be a great exercise in line writing and orchestration particularly. In the process of composing this music I so often forgot what it was I was supposed to play! Also a good exercise to write music as a leader. There are so many dynamics to consider.

Sons Of Daughters is preparing to release the first of two albums to be released within a few months of each other. The first one that we will release in March for our release tour is called "Beyond Animals." The art and more importantly the music will be SLAMMING. It is so far beyond our past releases in terms of maturation of music and concept. Perhaps the first recording publicly released that I can say I am very proud of. There are several compositions of mine on the record. SoD has a 3 week tour almost booked completely solid coming up in March. Hell Yes.

The tour in April with MATADOR has expanded to Montreal, Canada! I've never been there before and am very excited to visit. Almost finished booking this one.

The AWD trio had its first show last night at Caffe Vivaldi in the Village, NYC. It was a very special turning point for the three of us. We're going into the studio February 18th to record our first album, and from then on we plan to play lots more experimenting and doing what we do. Keep your ears to the ground.

Sons Of Daughters will be playing at Rockwood Music Hall, Stage 1 tomorrow night. We had some great shows in Boston at the Middle East and The Outpost that broadened our Boston fan base. I have posted our tour dates in March. Go to the appearances page on the left or by clicking the picture below to see if we're coming to you! We are SUPER excited for this tour. Our new album "Beyond Animals" will be pressed and ready to be sold by the time we hit the road. You'll be able to find a copy here when it comes out.

I am excited about a new group that will be debuting at The Outpost this wednesday as well. We don't have a name but the personnel is: Forbes Graham, Pandelis Karayorgis, Curt Newton and myself. I am humbled to play with such wonderful and experienced musicians as these guys. Tell us you're coming here
