Twain American Absinthe
Samuel Langhorne Clemens, pen name Mark Twain, was perhaps the greatest of American writers. But he was no stranger to the drinking life, or to the spirited scenes of nineteenth-century Paris, New Orleans and New York City. Clemens was a gregarious raconteur and was generally regarded as the life of the party when he socialized. His early work as a riverboat captain on the Mississippi took him to New Orleans regularly and his extensive European travels put him in the absinthe-drinking center of the world. New York was the city that always lured him back.

It is potent but refined. It’s at home at the dinner table, the cocktail bar, the salon and, dare we say, on the veranda. Serve it in the traditional manner, with a fountain’s drip of ice water, or let it mingle with other fine spirits in your favorite cocktail.
