FOUNDATION
(foun-dshn), n.
A cosmetic base.

When choosing your foundation you need to select it based on your skin type.
Dry: Liquid foundation is best for you. You need hydrating ingredients to help your skin feel and look more moisturized.
Oily: If you have oily skin, you can handle almost any foundation for the most part. Look for labels that say "Oil free" or "oil control" because you do not want to have a shiny or greasy look.
Combination: There are two kinds of combination skin: normal to dry and normal to oily. If you are more on the dry side, use a liquid moisturizing foundation. If you are more on the oily side, cream to powder foundations are a good choice. Think "balance" when it comes to your decision making.
Normal: You can endure any type of foundation. Tinted moisturizer is good for you if you have 100% clear skin.

In order to have a flawless, long-lasting foundation application you need a good primer and concealer.

Smashbox Cosmetics has wonderful primers that I swear by and only cost $38.00. Whether it is a concealer or a primer, each color is for a specific purpose.
Green: reduces redness
Purple: brightens dull or sallow skin
Yellow: dark skin discolorations
Nude: evens out skin tone and counteracts discoloration
