Ryan Burkhart
A few words about me

I began my career as a fine artist focused on printmaking and publishing. My degrees are in printmaking, painting and drawing. I received my BFA from Ohio State University in 1996 and my MFA from Texas Tech University in 2000.
From 2001 - 2008, I was the director of a non-profit press, Flying Horse Editions. I developed "chops" at FHE, designing and publishing prints and books by leading contemporary artists, authors and poets. Many of those publications are in prestigious private and public museum and special collections, including Yale University, Brown University, The Asheville Museum of Art, N.C., and others.
During the 8 years I was directing Flying Horse, there were many changes: Our membership quadrupled; an active board of directors was formed to provide guidance and input; expanded educational programming led to active lecture series and internships for advanced students. Ultimately, the press has become a recognized publisher of fine art books and prints throughout the southeast.
