Unsolved Civil Rights Murder Cases
The main source of inspiration for this series was sparked by the movie, “The Untold Story of Emmett Louis Till.” The movie documented the racism and hatred that led to the brutal murder of a 14-year old African American boy living in Mississippi during the year 1955. Till’s case along with countless other civil rights murder cases have been left unsolved.
Each painting below reflects an actual murder case in which no person was ever brought to justice. The paintings are meant to represent the pain and suffering of those murdered and are intended to haunt the viewer with the burden of injustice.
