Welcome to my website.
My name is Kimberley Jinks. I am a collage artist, Illustrator, Graphic Designer.
I create collages into digital prints through my own eclectic collection of recycled items and mixed media.
I look to incorporate a sense of nostalgia into each individual design. This is done through looking closely at the composition, structure and layout in each collage that I have produced.
An example as such would be the use of different cultural forms to bind my work together (This can include the usage of Chinese text or even alteration of colour schemes to create a drastically different portrayal of an action or a message).
Not only do I create my designs based around Collage and Illustration, but I also have strong skills for advertising, brand and packaging design, editorial and marketing design.
I chose the name KiJin as this is a combination of both my first and last names broken down. This simplified version feels a lot "edgier" but also provides me with a more artistic and aesthetic platform to label my work.
I have recently completed my Graphics Arts and Design Degree with Honours at Leeds Metropolitan University. I have over 5 years experience in this field all together.
Aside from my Graphics Design work, I have also worked in retail and customer service. I feel that these areas are vital and very compatible to my artistic license, as this helps me understand what clients demand but more importantly, ultimately what sells to customers.
I have worked for personal projects with clientele both overseas and here in the United Kingdom, I have taken on projects such as creating 3D model stage sets, T-shirt designs for marketing purposes, and also creating flyers and business cards for my family business in cosmetic surgery.
