This is the website of Javi(er) Fuentes. I am a bilingual writer and creative director
based in New York City. For the last fifteen years I've worked in communications,
advertising and personal projects. Some of the work here has been recognized at
the Radio Mercury Awards, FIAP (Festival Internacional de Publicidad), Communication
Arts, Festival de San Sebastián, and Ojo de Iberoamérica among others. In 2011
I decided to take a break from the commercial world to enroll in the Creative Writing
MFA program at Columbia University.

During these two years, I have pursued mostly literary writing in addition to some
screenwriting. Personal and commercial projects fulfill me in unique ways and, in
my opinion, feed from each other. Taking a sabbatical to work in purely creative
projects has been an amazing journey, not only creatively but also personally.

This summer I will be teaching a course on Creativity for the Multicultural Market
at The School of Visual Arts and in the 2013-14 academic year I will be teaching
Creative Writing in the Undergraduate Writing Program at Columbia University. I’m
available for freelance work and creative consulting and thrilled about what lies ahead.
