Registrations are open for participation to the third edition of the FLORENCE DESIGN WEEK-International Design Festival, 22/27 May 2012.
Florence Design Week is an event dedicated to the Design in all its forms, to art and ingenuity, understood as instruments of communication and promotion of local culture and identity in global vision. Florence Design Week is an unmissable event for industry experts, professionals, entrepreneurs, companies, teachers, students, creative Italians and foreigners.
Already in collaboration with the London Design Festival and Melbourne Design Week, this third edition opens more and more to international scenarios confirming role of Florence and Tuscany as a territory open to discussion on the themes of cultural growth, technological innovation and sustainable development. The aim of the Festival is to create an interaction between the various languages of design (graphic and visual, industrial, interior, fashion, music and food), focusing on interdisciplinary, sustainability, interculturality and at the same time the identity and tradition.
The theme chosen for the 2012 is CONNECTING TIME: moment of connection between past and future, between language and digital material form, but also the connections between the different languages of the creative world.

FLORENCE DESIGN WEEK - DESIGN VILLAGE III edition
Florence, 22-27 May 2012

From 22 to 27 May 2012 will host the third edition of the Florence Design Week - Design Village 2012, under the High Patronage of the Ministry of Heritage and Culture, supported by the London Design Festival and in collaboration with the Municipality of Florence , Province of Florence, Calenzano.

A passion for design and art will lead visitors to discover the five senses, through an emotional journey in which the design will merge with the historic beauty of Florence, the festival will involve squares, art galleries, libraries and historic houses decorating the city with his works to see and admire the work of new generations of designers and companies, taste the food that the design can give and enjoy the smells of a city ​​at the height of his creative spring.

Florence Design Week - Edition 2.0

Spread in various locations all around the city of Florence, Graphic and Visual Design, Industrial Design, Fashion Design, Interior Design, Music and Food Design will be celebrated during the whole week.
Exhibitions, workshops, meetings, design-aperitifs and an innovative night-life will be organized to create a real network between designers and people, between past and future.
Taking part at the Florence Design Week is a great possibility to perceive the city designed on a new and contemporary light!
