About Benjamin Lovejoy Creative Person

Benjamin is a graphic designer, strategist, thinker, mentor, father, and creative person. Lovejoy is primarily self-taught, starting his career close to 20 years ago as art director for Think Skateboards in San Francisco and maintaining steady employment in the industry ever since.

At City College of San Francisco, Lovejoy found camaraderie with his professors and a more grounded sense of his diverse interests, studying typography, design, writing & photography. While managing the pre-press department at Krishna Press, he met and began freelancing for Pepper Moore, creative director at local boutique agency Robert Goldberg & Associates where he was later hired as an art director. Robert was to become Benjamin’s mentor.

Benjamin worked closely with Robert for three years, learning everything there was to learn about running an agency. This experience introduced him to the concept that graphic design could have a palpable effect on the course of a business concern. This distinction led him to head out on his own, and lovejoy(creative) was born.

For 8 years, lovejoy(creative) served clients large and small including the San Francisco Opera and 24 Hour Fitness. Subsequently Benjamin worked as Associate Creative Director at award winning design and ad shop The M-Line and Design Director for also award winning 300FeetOut in San Francisco, and as Creative Director for the West at
Vis-A-Vis Creative Concepts in Chicago.

Benjamin continues his career as an independent creative consultant working with clients and agencies on a variety of endeavors.
