Let The Earth Tremble
“Let the Earth Tremble” is an interface that uses embodied interaction as a way to access information about the history of earthquakes in the United States. The user engages with the system by creating his/her own earthquake in order to reveal specific information about it.

How it Works
This tangible interface is composed by a human scale shaking table that moves back and forward as the user acts upon it. The earthquake related content, inspired by the language of earthquake engineering and science, is projected onto the table making visible the shaking activity produced by the user.

At the same time that the user shakes the table, he/she draws a seismograph that generates a specific richter scale. After 10 seconds the magnitude produced by the user’s action translates into information about the equivalent historical earthquake.
